Our Thanksgiving Table
This year for Thanksgiving we wanted to recycle our pumpkins from Halloween by creating a Thanksgiving table centerpiece filled with pumpkins. The entire center of the table, end to end, was filled with mini pumpkins, velvet pumpkins, natural pumpkins and painted pumpkins.
We painted a few of our mini pumpkins gold while keeping the others in their natural cream color. Our favorite part of the table are our DIY Velvet Pumpkins. Make sure to check out our blog tomorrow for the complete How To for these.
In addition to the pumpkins, we added these amazing vintage brass candlesticks we found at our local flea market. Who doesn't love a candle lit dinner? We gave added dimension and height to the centerpiece by using a vintage carved wood cake stand and a few carved wood platters.
For the place settings we chose a more traditional look. You really can't go wrong using vintage brass flatware and gold trimmed plates for a Holiday dinner. Of course we had to combine our pumpkin theme here too, so our place cards were tied to mini pumpkins set in the center of each setting.
We love to use vintage glassware every occasion and really, every non-occasion too! Here we used our vintage green stemmed glasses. A great pop of color to compliment the brass and other neutrals.
We decided not to do florals in containers since they would compete too much with our pumpkins. Instead, we used bunches of mums and placed them around the bases of the pumpkins. We chose the burnt orange mums because the color reminded us of Fall on the east coast, such a beautiful time of year.
We hope you love our pumpkin theme Thanksgiving as much as we do! Let us know what you think.
